Commit to social distancing to save lives

“As we continue our battle against COVID-19, we must be absolutely diligent to maintain social distancing.”

Jason Bowling, M.D., infectious diseases specialist with UT Health Physicians, the clinical practice of the Long School of Medicine, urges social distancing to protect health care resources and to save lives.

Now that we have entered the phase of community transmission, the mandates to maintain social distancing are all the more critical.

He recommends that we make an effort to stay six feet away from others and remain meticulous about handwashing, cleaning surfaces and covering coughs and sneezes.

“We need your support and commitment to this in order to preserve our health care resources and protect each other.  The life you’re saving could be that of a family member, close friend or neighbor —or your own,” says Bowling.
