Congratulations to the lab of Lynette Daws, Ph.D., professor in the Department of Cellular & Integrative Physiology, for being the first recipient of a new award from the Environmental Health & Safety Office.
The Superior Lab Safety Award was created to recognize laboratories that have demonstrated a long-term commitment to safety. Laboratory safety is an important aspect of science and is critical to the health and safety of our researchers, clinicians, students and educators, and ultimately to the mission of UT Health San Antonio. The criteria for consideration for the award includes, but is not limited to, consistent demonstration of safe practices during research/lab activities.
Dr. Daws’ lab consistently demonstrates continued attention to safety in their research endeavors. Under the direction of Dr. Daws and Anthony Owens, research scientist, the lab collectively shares the responsibility in maintaining a safe working environment. Congratulations to Dr. Daws and group!
