Governor Greg Abbott issued an executive order on June 25 postponing elective surgeries.
“Elective does not mean it’s not needed. Canceling a surgery is not a little thing. People put a lot into going into surgery, they get their work arranged, their families [are] there, so we don’t take any of these cancellations lightly,” said Dr. Amita Shah, assistant professor and associate program director for the Division of Plastic Surgery.
