Harvard Political Review: The overlooked opioid crisis in Latinx communities

Jennifer Sharpe Potter, Ph.D., M.P.H., professor of psychiatry and vice dean for research in the Long School of Medicine, is quoted about the opioid crises in the Latinx community.

She explained while racial biases of prescribers and limited income of patients may have “protected” Latinos from having access to prescriptions for pain, it also limited access to pain management for those patients who need it the most.
