Head of Army Futures Command visits

Gen. John M. “Mike” Murray, commanding general of the U.S. Army Futures Command based in Austin, visited UT Health San Antonio June 5 to learn about advances in military medicine. He was hosted by Byron Hepburn, M.D., Major General USAF (Ret), director of UT Health San Antonio’s Military Health Institute.

Gen. Murray was briefed on research, patient care and health education by several faculty members, including Drs. Stacey Young-McCaughan, Ron Stewart, Peter Fox, Jeremy Nelson and James Lechleiter.

The Army Futures Command, established in 2018, is aimed at modernizing the Army by testing and shaping new methods, organizations and technologies.
