Healthy adults needed for statewide research studies

The University of Texas System Health Biobank (UTHSB) Consortium is a collaborative effort among eight UT institutions to standardize and expand access to human biospecimens. By transforming multiple biobanks into a cohesive system, scientists will be able to conduct research using larger sample sizes and data sets for a large number of diseases. The end result will be improved research effectiveness and quality and faster translation of discoveries to directly benefit patients.

As part of this effort, pilot projects to gather healthy controls are currently ongoing at UTHealth Houston, UT Southwestern and UT Health San Antonio.

Healthy adults (18 years and older) are needed to participate as healthy controls in a research study.

If you are willing to participate, please email Brenna Albracht at albracht@uthscsa.edu. You will be asked to confirm your eligibility and schedule a one-time, half-hour research visit at UT Health San Antonio. The visit will include a brief medical history questionnaire and a blood draw. You will be compensated for your time.

Please complete this survey form if you are interested in more information about the Healthy Control Pilot Study.
