Renovations underway on dental, nursing buildings

Renovations to the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors of the dental building  and portions of the 1st and 2nd floors of the School of Nursing building, both on the Long campus, began Aug. 9.

Of special note, the School of Health Professions’ Departments of Emergency Health Sciences, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, as well as the dean’s office, will move to the renovated 2nd and 3rd floors of the dental building. And space will be provided to the new speech therapy program.

The School of Nursing will be receiving significant upgrades to its classrooms and restrooms, as well as the Nancy Smith Hurd Auditorium.

There will be four phases of construction and project completion is scheduled for December 2019. Bartlett Cocke is the general contractor.
