San Antonio health experts say Mayor Ron Nirenberg has been keen to seek their advice before making major decisions — even if that advice was unpleasant.
“He’s very receptive to ideas that are different from his own and especially if we were coming with expertise and data,” said Dr. Barbara Taylor, an infectious diseases specialist who helmed the city-county health transition panel.
