The University of Texas at San Antonio met its accreditation standards as a merged university, completing the required process for institutional-level accreditation for a merger as affirmed by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).

Multiple joint replacements help retired teacher regain independence

Sutherland first met orthopaedic surgeon Frank Buttacavoli, MD, at UT Health San Antonio in 2019 after complications with the replacement in her right hip caused an infection. The hip ball had worked its way into the hip bone, and Buttacavoli performed surgery to remove the damaged joint components and treat the infection.

CPRIT awards newly integrated UT San Antonio to further its mission to combat cancers across South Texas

The University of Texas at San Antonio and its academic health center, UT Health San Antonio, recently received over $2.7 million in new academic and prevention awards from the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) to further its mission of combating cancers across South Texas. Since 2010, CPRIT has awarded the newly integrated UT San Antonio almost $186 million.
