A message from the President to the UT Health San Antonio community about coronavirus (COVID-19)

Over the last week, I have been in touch with a multidisciplinary team of experts, including infectious disease health experts, about the developments related to the COVID-19 virus. Although the San Antonio area is currently considered “low risk,” the experts tell us that COVID-19 will continue to spread. Thus, we have compiled comprehensive information and resources into an intranet webpage that will be updated on a regular basis. The webpage contains information about measures we are taking at UT Health San Antonio, advice about how to reduce your chances of getting the virus, travel bans and warnings, what to do if you are feeling sick and other helpful information. We will continue to work through developing issues and add information to this site as needed.

This challenge is best met with the same calm and mindful approach we bring to our daily interactions with colleagues and patients. My thanks to every member of our team as we work to make lives better.

With great respect and appreciation,

William L. Henrich, M.D., MACP

President and Professor of Medicine

John P. Howe III, M.D., Distinguished Chair in Health Policy
