The City of Laredo Health Department is hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new Dental Clinic that provides dental care for patients of all ages and will serve as the primary clinical training site for two newly established dental residency training programs based in Laredo.

Minerva Garcia, D.D.S., a Zapata native, will be named the holder of the first distinguished university chair of the Laredo Campus Extension of The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. UT Health Science Center President Francisco G. Cigarroa, M.D., will make the announcement during a luncheon at 12:30 p.m. today at the Laredo Campus Extension, 1937 Bustamante Street.
