UTHSC professor earns national recognition for community service

The Hispanic Dental Association (HDA) has awarded Vidal Balderas, D.D.S., clinical assistant professor in the department of community dentistry at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSC), its prestigious President’s Award for community service.

Portable blood analyzer picks up cases of anemia in Mexican children

A portable blood analyzer developed at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSC) and commercialized by AVOX Systems of San Antonio helped diagnose a young child with anemia recently during a visit to a children’s home in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico.

Mellonig earns Outstanding Educator Award from AAP
