Andrea Marks recognized with leadership award

The San Antonio Business Journal recently released its list of honorees for the 2022 Women’s Leadership Awards, recognizing Andrea Marks, MBA, CPA, senior executive vice president and chief operating officer, as an outstanding leader in the community.

Marks is in good company, listed among CEOs, business owners, managing partners and executive directors.

“I’m honored to be recognized by the Business Journal,” Marks said. “As a native San Antonian, I’ve been very proud to see our city flourish and compete on a national stage.”

Marks has worked at UT Health San Antonio in increasingly responsible roles for more than 20 years. During her tenure as chief financial officer, Marks stewarded the institution through prodigious financial growth, taking the helm as chief operating officer in 2019 after leading the university to sound financial health. As COO, she has played a crucial role in supporting the university’s rapidly expanding missions by leading operations during a time of tremendous growth.

“I’m proud to be associated with UT Health San Antonio over these many years and I’m grateful to be a part of the extraordinary team that works hard here every day to improve the health of our community,” she said. “Whatever I can do to help our gifted leaders, faculty, staff and learners, I’m in.”

The awards ceremony will be held Aug. 11 at Estancia del Norte Hotel and will honor women shaping the future of San Antonio through their leadership.
