Applause for Dr. Stasik, a Business Journal 40 Under 40 winner

Chad N. Stasik, M.D., assistant professor of cardiothoracic surgery and associate program director for thoracic surgery residency at UT Health San Antonio, has been named a winner of the San Antonio Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 awards. The annual awards recognize 40 civic, business, academic and other professionals under 4o years old who exemplify leadership and achievements in the community.

This year’s recipients will be recognized at a dinner event on Feb. 16 at the Norris Conference Center.

Dr. Stasik, who joined UT Health San Antonio in 2012, earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Michigan. He trained in general surgery at the University of Florida, followed by a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He completed additional fellowship training at the University of Pennsylvania, where he learned advanced open and endovascular surgical options for the treatment of aortic diseases. He is an adult cardiac surgeon with an interest in surgery of the aorta, including thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) and transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR).

Dr. Stasik also specializes in the surgical management of atrial fibrillation (AFIB) and the left atrial appendage, including new minimally invasive approaches for the maze procedure.
