Applications sought for the IIMS translational science communication program

UT Health San Antonio’s Institute for Integration of Medicine & Science (IIMS) is seeking applications for the inaugural cohort of its Translational Science Communication for Impact training program.

The communication training program empowers faculty to develop skills in communicating how their scientific discoveries have real-world impact.

Ten participants will be selected for the inaugural cohort, which will learn science communication from seasoned experts who have successfully bridged the gap between academia and the public. The program will also offer an opportunity for trainees to connect with a vibrant, like-minded community to foster collaboration and exchange ideas.

Applications are due by Feb. 14 at 5 p.m. Apply here.

The program’s orientation and training kickoff will take place 2–3 p.m. Feb. 28 and 2–4 p.m. March 27.

Questions about the program can be directed to Charles W. Mathias, Ph.D., professor, School of Nursing, and associate professor, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, at Mathias@uthscsa.edu.
