ARTT Center of Excellence funds pilot program

The Addiction Research, Treatment and Training (ARTT) Center of Excellence, a part of UT Health San Antonio, has funded a pilot project program to foster research initiatives and collaborations between investigators working in the area of substance abuse.

James H. Woods, Ph.D., professor/research in the Department of Pharmacology, is the principal investigator for the project titled, “M-CAM: a long-acting antagonist for treatment of opioid overdose.”

The ARTT Center of Excellence was recently established to promote addiction research, treatment, and training at UT Health San Antonio and facilitate the translation of discoveries in basic science to clinical care. Charles France, Ph.D., professor pharmacology, is the program director, and Cindal C. Dominguez, M.Ed., is the center’s coordinator.
