Traffic safety project expanded to Webb County colonias

Hispanic residents and new immigrants to the United States living in Webb County colonias will be the first in the Texas-Mexico border region to learn about traffic safety as a result of a new program being brought to South Texas by The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

Dr. Steven Bailey to receive Heroes for Heart award

On Friday, April 11, the American Heart Association (AHA) will honor Steven Bailey, M.D., of the University of Texas Health Science at San Antonio, with the 2008 Heroes for Heart Award. Dr. Bailey is interim chief of cardiology and the Janey Briscoe Distinguished Chair in Cardiovascular Research at the UT Health Science Center.


National leader Breslin takes helm of UT Health Science Center School of Nursing

Eileen T. Breslin, Ph.D., R.N., professor and dean of the School of Nursing at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst (UMass), is the new dean of the School of Nursing at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She succeeded Dean Robin Froman, R.N., Ph.D., F.A.A.N., who retired in March.
