Martha Medrano, M.D., M.P.H., assistant dean for continuing medical education and director of the School of Medicine’s Hispanic Center of Excellence at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, has received the 2004 Medical School Distinguished Alumnus Award.


Putting the proverbial brakes on aging

The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio has received a $2.5 million grant for a National Institute on Aging (NIA) Intervention Testing Center, one of three such U.S. centers established by the NIA to test potential therapeutic interventions to slow the aging process.
