In recognition of the U.S. News and World Report’s Best Grad Schools for 2023 rankings, large banners were erected to showcase the Long School of Medicine’s achievement of being named a top 50 medical school for the second year in a row. The banners are located on the facade of the parking garage near the Long School of Medicine on the Long Campus. 
In March, the school was named the 36th top medical school training primary care physicians, an improvement from 46th last year.
“This is a remarkable accomplishment for our students, faculty and staff, and an achievement we are all proud of,” said Robert Hromas, MD, FACP, dean of the Long School of Medicine and vice president for medical affairs. “Their efforts over the last five years have made a huge impact on the health of not just San Antonio, but the region. Discoveries made here have been translated into important advances in medical care everywhere.”
The school also ranks 47th among medical schools performing research, as well as 25th most diverse medical school in the U.S. The School of Nursing’s Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree also was ranked 67th in the 2023 U.S. News & World Report rankings.
