Be good to your eyes; get solar eclipse glasses at March 27 giveaway

Ahead of the total solar eclipse that will cross North America and pass through San Antonio April 8, UT Health San Antonio will provide staff, faculty, students and residents complimentary eclipse glasses – one per badge — from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, at the following locations:

  • Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine parking lot (where the Spirit Week shirt pickup was located).
  • Greehey Academic and Research Campus (in front of School of Public Health).
  • Medical Arts and Research Center (in front of staff lounge).
  • Center for Oral Health Care and Research (first floor lounge hallway).
  • Mays Cancer Center at UT Health San Antonio (conference room hallway on fourth floor).
  • School of Nursing (water feature).
  • Off-campus clinics. Liaisons will deliver glasses to the clinics.

The eclipse occurs when the moon passes between the sun and earth, completely blocking the face of the sun, according to NASA’s website. NASA’s website emphasizes that safety is a priority when viewing the eclipse. Please visit this site for safety guidelines.
