One-woman play about America’s first doctor takes stage tonight

A Lady Alone. Elizabeth Blackwell: First American Woman Doctor, a one-woman play about the first woman to graduate from medical school in the United States and the first female doctor of medicine in the modern era.


UT Health Science Center to host high school students at ‘Freaky Friday’ health professions event Oct. 31

Through three hands-on labs, a group of students from Lyndon B. Johnson, Hebbronville and Bruni high schools will study the human brain, learn about other parts of the body via plastinated specimens (body parts preserved in plastic) and sew up wounds on simulation practice arms.

The Cancer Therapy & Research Center at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio has begun enrolling participants in a national study that aims to better target treatment of cancer by identifying and validating biomarkers of high-risk prostate cancer.
