A man’s age, race and diet have a significant impact on how much his prostate-specific antigen (PSA) concentration changes over time, according to a report released Dec. 12 by researchers from institutions including the Health Science Center and the Cancer Therapy and Research Center (CTRC).

Landmark evidence suggests estrogen may be one of the causative agents in cervical cancer, according to a research team at the Health Science Center. The results, published in the Dec. 1 issue of Cancer Research, raise the possibility that estrogen inhibitors could be used as a potential line of therapy to treat cervical cancer.

A clinical study unveiled today at the American College of Rheumatology Annual Scientific Meeting in San Diego shows that a drug now used to help patients with the sleep disorder narcolepsy can be useful at treating fibromyalgia syndrome patients, as well.
