$1.1 million project seeks prevention of lead exposure

he U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has given The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio a $1.1 million grant to support expanded screening of children and pregnant women for lead exposure and to encourage more physicians to test for lead before symptoms appear.

Schenken becomes president of American Society for Reproductive Medicine

Robert S. Schenken, M.D., professor and chairman of the department of obstetrics and gynecology at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, is now the president of the nation’s largest society of physicians who specialize in fertility, sterility, menopause and other issues that surround reproduction.
