Charles Katz Drive to be excavated starting July 8

Charles Katz Drive will be excavated from Monday, July 8, to Saturday, July 20, notwithstanding inclement weather, to install chilled water lines to the new Center for Brain Health building adjacent to the Medical Arts and Research Center (MARC) on the Greehey Campus (also referred to as the north campus).

The excavation will affect the university community and patients serviced by the MARC, the Sam and Ann Barshop Institute for Longevity and Aging Studies, the South Texas Research Facility (STRF), the Center for Oral Health Care and Research (COHCR) and both the imaging center and the Biggs Institute for Alzheimer’s and Neurodegenerative Diseases in the McDermott Clinical Sciences Building.

Patients and community partners will be informed of this partial road closure and wayfinding signage will be provided to guide those traveling to the affected locations.

Those traveling to the MARC, COHCR or the STRF on eastbound Wurzbach Road, can turn left onto northbound Floyd Curl Drive to reach those locations. Travelers using westbound Wurzbach Road can turn right onto northbound Floyd Curl Drive and follow directional signage to the MARC, COHCR or STRF.

Those traveling to the Barshop Institute or the McDermott Clinical Sciences Building via Charles Katz Drive, can turn right onto Ewing Halsell Drive, turn right onto Wurzbach Road and turn right onto Floyd Curl Drive to reach their destination.
