UT Health San Antonio is holding its annual Compliance and Ethics week, Nov. 13–17. It is part of the institution’s initiative to shine a spotlight on the importance of compliance and ethics. It is also an opportunity to recognize all faculty, staff and learners for always keeping compliance and ethics as a top priority.

Please join in celebrating Compliance and Ethics Week, both virtually and in-person, by participating in the following events:
- Meet the Institutional Compliance & Privacy Team to learn about new compliance initiatives.
- Nominate a Compliance Champion.
- Participate in the Compliance and Ethics games for a chance to win prizes.
Nominate a Compliance Champion
The Institutional Compliance and Privacy Office appreciates the daily work of faculty and staff to fulfill the mission of UT Health San Antonio. In recognition of that work, the Compliance Champion Award was established to commend individuals for their commitment to the highest standards of professionalism and their dedication to supporting culture of compliance.
Do you work with someone who does the right thing even when no one is looking? This means ethically stepping up even when it may be difficult. It could involve protecting patients’ privacy, preventing fraud or abuse, or putting into practice UT Health San Antonio’s mission, policies, and Standards of Conduct. If so, nominate them as a Compliance Champion.
Selected individuals will receive a gift from the Institutional Compliance and Privacy Office and be highlighted after this year’s Compliance and Ethics Week celebration, Nov. 13-17. The deadline to submit nominations is Friday, Nov. 17, at 5 p.m.
Opportunities to chat with members of the Compliance and Privacy Team
Campus faculty and staff are invited to chat with members of the Compliance and Privacy Team and enter for a chance to win great prizes on these days, times and locations:
- Monday, Nov. 13, 9–11 a.m., breezeway between the Academic Administrative Building (AAB) and the Medical School.
- Tuesday, Nov. 14, 9–11 a.m., first floor, near the employee elevator bays in the Medical Arts and Research Center (MARC).
- Wednesday, Nov. 15, 9–11 a.m., fourth floor, Mabee Conference Room at the Mays Cancer Center at UT Health San Antonio.
- Thursday, Nov. 16, 9–11 a.m., student lounge at the Center for Oral Health Care and Research (COHR).
- Friday, Nov. 17, 9–11 a.m., first floor, 1.106, near the fountain at the School of Nursing (SON).
Participate in the Compliance and Ethics games
Complete and submit one compliance puzzle to be entered in a drawing for a chance to win a pair of wireless earbuds. Complete all three puzzles for a chance to win a compliance YETI tumbler. Winners will be notified by email the week of Nov. 20.
