Construction begins March 16 on Greehey Campus

Research Road, the main thoroughfare through the Greehey campus, and portions of lots 16 and 23 to close March 16; some patients and visitors to relocate to other lots

As part of UT Health San Antonio’s continued growth and expansion, a construction project will begin March 16 to run chilled water lines from the new chilled water plant on Charles Katz Drive to the existing plant on the Greehey Academic and Research Campus.

The project is anticipated to take about five months, and will require closure of portions of lots 16 and 23 and a section of Research Road beginning March 16. Traffic from the closed portion of Research Road will be rerouted through Lot 16B, in front of the Greehey Children’s Cancer Research Institute. A portion of Charles Katz Road will also be closed this summer.

Four patient/visitor reserve spaces for the Glenn Biggs Institute for Alzheimer’s and Neurodegenerative Diseases and the Imaging Center in the McDermott Clinical Sciences Building — located at 8403 Floyd Curl Drive — will be relocated to Lot 16A in front of the Research Administration Building. Three handicapped and two official business spaces in the row next to the South Texas Research Facility will be moved to Lot 16B.

For more information about the road closures or parking during this project, please email the parking office at parking@uthscsa.edu or call 210-567-2800.
