Construction causes sidewalk closures at Mays Cancer Center

The sidewalk between the parking garage and the Mays Cancer Center will be temporarily closed to everyone due to construction starting Monday, Aug. 22. The work is estimated to be completed by Sept. 9, weather permitting.

Everyone should access the building using the second floor skywalk. The doors will be open to patients between 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Please inform patients about this temporary change. Valet parking service will still be available to all patients. Wayfinding signage has been placed throughout the building to assist with directing patients.

As a reminder, there is no employee parking on the first and second floor of the parking garage, including handicap parking. These floors are reserved for patients. Please park on the third and fourth floor, handicap spots are available on these floors for those that require it. UTPD will be increasing patrol in the garage and will ticket those in violation.

If you have clinical or operations questions, please contact Gwen Tate, chief nursing officer, at tateg1@uthscsa.edu. For parking questions, please contact UTPD at utpolice@uthscsa.edu or at 210-567-2800, option 3.
