Presidential Award for Clinical Excellence: Recognizes excellence in clinical service provided by UT Health San Antonio faculty. The award celebrates the outstanding practitioners whose skillful and compassionate care makes better the lives of our patients and their families. Nominations are open for two categories of the award. Because the domains of physician practice and non-physician practice are distinct, nominations may be submitted under the category of outstanding physician practice or outstanding non-physician practice, including dentistry, nursing, and the allied health professions. Visit the Clinical Excellence Award page on My UT Health for detailed information about the nomination process and forms or contact the Office of the Vice President for Academic, Faculty & Student Affairs.

Presidential Junior Research Scholar Award: Honors remarkable investigators at UT Health San Antonio who began their independent research within the past five years (e.g. Assistant Professor, less than 5 years). These scholars demonstrate mastery in their field and show significant potential for continued success. Two awards in this category will be conferred in FY 2019: one to recognize a rising clinical research scholar and one to spotlight a rising basic science research scholar. Presidential Distinguished Senior Research Scholar Award: Is a distinction which befits the best of our academic colleagues at UT Health San Antonio. The awardee is a premier scholar who has made major contributions to the theory, research and/or practice of his/her discipline; holds stature as a pre-eminent national and/or international expert in the discipline; and has made substantial contributions to research at UT Health San Antonio. The Presidential Awards for Emerging Excellence in Teaching will be accorded to faculty with less than ten years’ teaching experience who have demonstrated emerging excellence and innovation in teaching. Detailed information about this category of teaching awards is found at My UT Health or through the Office of the Vice President for Academic, Faculty and Student Affairs. The Presidential Awards for Sustained Excellence in Teaching will be accorded to faculty whose depth of pedagogical excellence has been sustained for ten or more years and who have been nationally recognized for innovative practices that have been embedded in educational practice in the discipline. Detailed information about this category of teaching awards is found at My UT Health or you may contact the Office of the Vice President for Academic, Faculty and Student Affairs.

Presidential Employee Excellence in Service and Team Award: The Presidential Employee Excellence in Service Award recognizes members who have made noteworthy and distinctive contributions to UT Health San Antonio by modeling our core values and serving our missions of education, research, patient care and community engagement.
