Donate to help families this Giving Tuesday

Giving Tuesday is Nov. 29. On this day, for 24 hours, people around the world will participate in a global day of giving.

The UT Health San Antonio Gifts for Children volunteer committee is partnering with the Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine’s Department of Pediatrics to join their mission of providing direct assistance and resources to disadvantaged families of children with complex medical conditions.

All too often, faculty who work in pediatric care see the critical needs of their patients’ families. The Pediatric Family Relief Fund helps families with necessities such as rent and utility bills during a challenging time. Faculty in the Department of Pediatrics will utilize all collected funds to help the families with the most need.

For over 25 years, the Gifts for Children project has been an important activity in which faculty, staff and students create happier holidays for children. The continuation of GFC is something the UT Health San Antonio community can do to support families in need. In lieu collecting toys and books, as GFC has done in the past, this year the GFC committee has worked to develop an alternate way to directly support children in our community with necessities.

Please join Giving Tuesday to support the critical needs of patients’ families by making a contribution to this fund. Every gift to the Pediatric Family Relief Fund will make a difference to these patients and their families.
