Donations needed for virtual silent auction to benefit SECC

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the annual State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC) will look a little different this year.

SECC is the charitable giving campaign for state and higher education employees. This year, a virtual silent auction will be held in lieu of fundraisers being held on campus.

More so than ever, your support will help in a big way. During this challenging and uncertain time, charitable organizations need support to continue their outreach to help those who need it the most in our community.

Statewide charities that will benefit from your participation and contributions include the San Antonio Food Bank, Meals on Wheels San Antonio, Autism Treatment Center, San Antonio Pets Alive! and SAMMinistries, to name a few.

In addition, the campaign supports the UT Health San Antonio Staff Emergency Fund, SA Cancer Council and Chromosome 18 Registry and Research Society.

All departments, staff, faculty and student groups are invited to participate in the auction.

If you’d like to get creative and showcase your talents, please consider donating items to the online auction. Some ideas include a gift basket, art work, handmade jewelry or other crafts.

The deadline for donations is August 24. The virtual silent auction runs from September 7 through October 9. This year’s SECC runs from September 1 through October 9.

Each year, thousands of state and higher education employees contribute through a payroll deduction or a one-time monetary gift. Your support is voluntary.

If you have questions about donating to the virtual silent auction, please contact Cindi Adcock, SECC manager (adcockc@uthscsa.edu or 210 410-3591), Camille Garcia (GarciaCC@uthscsa.edu) or Khalilah Harmon (HarmonK@uthscsa.edu).
