Dr. Hicks named to U.S. advisory committee on medicine, dentistry training

Jeffery Hicks, D.D.S.

Jeffery Hicks, D.D.S., professor of comprehensive dentistry, has been appointed to the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration Advisory Committee on Training in Primary Care Medicine and Dentistry (ACTPCMD) for 2019-2023.

The administration is part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

As a committee member, Dr. Hicks will assist the ACTPCMD in advising and making recommendations to the Secretary of Health and Human Services and congressional committees on appropriation levels, policy, program development, and other matters of significance concerning the medicine and dentistry activities under Section 747 of the Public Health Service Act.

The membership of the ACTPCMD includes health professionals engaged in primary care or oral health interprofessional training.
