Dr. Olson earns emergency medicine teaching award

Adriana Segura Olson, M.D.

Adriana Segura Olson, M.D., former assistant professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine, has won the National Emergency Medicine Junior Faculty Teaching Award from the American College of Emergency Physicians.

The award recognizes superior teaching activities, including clinical instruction, the development of innovative educational programs, as well as the endorsement by faculty, residents, and students.

“I’m so honored to have been nominated by our emergency medicine residency program,” said Dr. Olson. “The support of the residents is what means the most to me.”

Although she is now assistant professor of emergency medicine at the University of Chicago, the award recognizes her work at UT Health San Antonio.

Dr. Olson will be honored at the upcoming American College of Emergency Physicians Scientific Assembly 2018.
