Enhancing patient check-in: New options improve clinic flow

Patients at UT Health De Zavala, UT Health at Kyle Seale Parkway and the Mays Cancer Center, home to UT Health San Antonio MD Anderson Cancer Center, can now check into their appointments using handheld tablets and kiosks. These new options streamline the check-in process, reduce wait times, enhance privacy and improve overall clinic efficiency.

The rollout of these new features is part of a UT Health San Antonio’s BetterCare initiative, which focuses on improving patient engagement through digital capabilities across the institution’s health care system.

UT Health De Zavala was the first location to feature the tablet and kiosk options in June of last year. UT Health at Kyle Seale Parkway included the new check-in options upon its opening in March, and most recently, the Mays Cancer Center incorporated the new options the week of Sept. 2.

When it opens in December, the UT Health San Antonio Multispecialty and Research Hospital will also include these convenient check-in options.
