Learning Skills Together is an online program offered by the School of Nursing's Caring for the Caregiver Program. The purpose of the program is to help family members of persons living with dementia learn how to confidently complete complex care tasks.
Complex care tasks include activities such as managing medications, safely transferring a family member, managing incontinence and more.
Content was developed by faculty in departments across UT Health San Antonio and UTSA. Sessions are held each month over Zoom. The next session will take place on Saturday, November 14 and Saturday, November 21 from 10 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Participants are encouraged to attend both sessions.
All caregivers are welcome to join the session regardless of their family member's diagnosis. Some caregivers to individuals living with dementia may be eligible to participate in a pilot study to help us learn more about the program's effect on caregivers' confidence.
