Facelift coming to the intranet!

To better meet the needs of a dynamic and growing workforce, UT Health San Antonio’s intranet will be getting a new look on Monday, Nov. 18.

The update will provide an easier platform that will give employees important information when they need it.

Key benefits

  • User-centric features: Provides easier navigation, user experience and design. Everything users are used to finding on the old intranet will still be there but will be easier to find.
  • Intuitive: Offers a more intuitive layout to provide visually appealing access to news and information from across the institution and its missions.
  • Enhanced efficiency: Provides information internal audiences need to know to do their jobs more effectively and efficiently.
  • More multimedia access: Provides greater integration of multimedia resources, offering employees critical information in multiple formats.

Why is a new intranet needed?

To enhance internal communications as the institution’s needs continue to grow and evolve, it is critical to create a place for all employees to easily access information and resources they need. The updated intranet homepage, still called My UT Health, was redesigned based on feedback from employees gathered over six months through a university-wide survey of all employees and students, multiple focus group sessions and stakeholder interviews. The goal is to provide a more-intuitive platform with faster access to needed information, such as Human Resources pages.

The new look will serve as an interim solution until a more robust digital workplace is created later next year that will include an expanded digital signage network throughout the institution’s many facilities, and a new mobile experience that will give all employees — including those without access to a computer— an opportunity to remain connected with the institution’s most critical applications and information.

Keep an eye out in the coming weeks for additional information about this updated platform.
