Floyd Curl closure to affect UT Health facilities

Beginning at 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, and continuing through Sunday, March 17, Floyd Curl Drivebetween Charles Katz Drive and Hamilton Wolfe Road—will be closed. The road will close to allow for the construction of the pedestrian bridge that will connect UT Health San Antonio’s Barshop Institute with our South Texas Research Facility.

During the closure, there will be no access on Floyd Curl Drive from Hamilton Wolfe Road to the UT Health Medical Arts & Research Center (MARC), UT Dentistry Center for Oral Health Care & Research (COHCR), Greehey Children’s Cancer Research Institute (GCCRI), McDermott building, South Texas Research Facility (STRF), Research Administration Building and UT Health San Antonio MD Anderson Cancer Center. To reach these facilities, drivers should use Wurzbach Road to Floyd Curl Drive—or take Ewing Halsell Drive and the roundabout to Charles Katz Drive to get to Floyd Curl.

It’s important to note that Floyd Curl Drive will remain open from Wurzbach Road to Charles Katz Drive.

Patients traveling to UT Dentistry or the MARC are encouraged to use Wurzbach Road to Floyd Curl Drive.

Traffic to UT Health San Antonio MD Anderson Cancer Center entrance on Wurzbach Road will not be affected.

Be aware that traffic in the area will be heavy during the closure. Please allow extra time to reach your destination safely.
