City officials and community stakeholders on Jan. 23 kicked off construction of the Floyd Curl Green Street project.

The project will provide a 10-foot, two-way cycle track, the first of its kind built by the City of San Antonio, along the UT Health San Antonio side of Floyd Curl between Louis Pasteur to Hamilton Wolfe.

Additional project improvements will include wider sidewalks and a 5-foot brick buffer to increase traffic safety for bicyclists, as well as landscaping. All improvements are designed to make the area more accessible for people who walk, bike and drive.

Another Medical Center project begun this month is Medical Center Phase 10, which will provide drainage relief to the area, new sidewalks and will widen the Louis Pasteur/Ewing Halsell intersection.

Both infrastructure projects are designed to enhance multimodal transportation options for the South Texas Medical Center.
