Dr. Fred Campbell urges people with fever or shortness of breath to seek medical help immediately because COVID-19 affects people differently.

He says it usually takes between two to five days between exposure and actually contracting the virus. He says the red-flag symptoms are a fever that makes you feel weak, as well as trouble breathing.

“I would not wait a moment once you develop the breathing difficulty or the fever to contact medical personnel,” says Dr. Campbell.
