Gas outage to impact Greehey Campus Saturday, Oct. 19

A planned gas outage will take place on the Greehey Academic and Research Campus on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Due to some leaking gas spool pieces that need to be replaced with a welded repair, Facilities Management will be working through its contractor Brandt to make the repairs behind the School of Public Health and at Parking Lot 17 by the North Energy Plant.

The planned gas outage will impact the following Greehey Campus buildings:

  • UT School of Public Health San Antonio
  • McDermott Clinical Sciences Building
  • South Texas Research Facility  (STRF)
  • Greehey Children’s Cancer Research Institute (CCRI)
  • North Energy Plant

How will these locations be impacted?

Building heating, steam and laboratory gas at the CCRI, STRF, McDermott Clinical Sciences Building and the UT School of Public Health San Antonio, will not be available.

Buildings not impacted

The following buildings on the Greehey Campus will not be impacted:

  • Sam and Ann Barshop Institute for Longevity and Aging Studies
  • Mays Cancer Center, home to UT Health San Antonio MD Anderson Cancer Center
  • Medical Arts and Research Center
  • Center for Oral Health Care and Research
