The Cancer Therapy & Research Center at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio has begun enrolling participants in a national study that aims to better target treatment of cancer by identifying and validating biomarkers of high-risk prostate cancer.
CTRC receives grant to further develop novel therapies for leukemia

The Cancer Therapy & Research Center (CTRC) at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio announced today that Jennifer Carew, Ph.D., and Francis Giles, M.D., have been awarded a $150,000 grant from LeukemiaTexas for research to develop novel therapies for the treatment of leukemia.

Therapeutic target ID’d for deadly childhood muscle cancer

Curbing the activity of a substance called “platelet-derived growth factor receptor A” dramatically reduced aggressiveness of an often-untreatable childhood muscle cancer in mice and cells, a new study from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and partner institutions shows.
