The Cancer Therapy & Research Center at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio has begun enrolling participants in a national study that aims to better target treatment of cancer by identifying and validating biomarkers of high-risk prostate cancer.

The Cancer Therapy & Research Center (CTRC) at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio announced today that Jennifer Carew, Ph.D., and Francis Giles, M.D., have been awarded a $150,000 grant from LeukemiaTexas for research to develop novel therapies for the treatment of leukemia.

The UT Health Science Center San Antonio’s Council for Excellence in Women’s Health and the Susan G. Komen for the Cure San Antonio Affiliate present the Second Annual Multicultural Conference on Breast Cancer from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6.
