HR offering two leadership development opportunities

The Office of Human Resources at UT Health San Antonio has announced two leadership development programs for faculty and staff to hone their skills in higher education, research and health care.

The new Leadership Excellence for Academic Professionals program is designed for mid- to senior-level managers to enhance their skills in building effective project teams and bolstering innovation and continuous improvement efforts.

Along the Leader’s Path is another training program designed to help supervisors – as well as those who aspire to supervisory roles – learn the foundational leadership and management skills critical to success. Course work ranges from topics of basic management theory to practical tools utilized by leaders who inspire us all to give of our minds, hearts and talents to make lives better.

“In alignment with the Culture of Excellence work plan, other communications will be forthcoming over the next several weeks from the Office of Human Resources about performance management, employee recognition, benefits enrollment and other offerings,” said Amy Tawney, M.B.A., SPHR, vice president and chief human resources officer.

Both leadership programs, she added, will allow participants to “learn more about organizational processes of strategic planning, management and building a more engaged culture.”
