Practicing emergency medicine far from the emergency room

In February 2024, students in the Wilderness and Survival Medicine course at UT Health San Antonio’s Long School of Medicine tested their emergency medicine skills during a four-day trip to Big Bend National Park where they role-played seven potentially life-and-death scenarios to determine how they should respond.
