As part of his ongoing “Spriester Sessions” conversations, KSAT anchor Steve Spriester talked with a local doctor, a San Antonio parent who lost a child to an opioid overdose, and an addict who is currently in recovery.
Jennifer Potter, Ph.D., associate dean for research in t he Long School of Medicine, appeared on the program. After the program aired, she received this note:
Hi Dr. Potter,
My name is Griffin Jarzombek, I am the Director of Outpatient Services at Jaywalker Lodge – A Men’s Residential Aftercare Program in Carbondale, Colorado. I am originally from San Antonio (born and raised) and I watched you on the KSAT 12 special about the Opioid Crisis. I watched because I was a friend of Cage Chumbley, and I was told his Father Dwight was speaking about his life and subsequent overdose.
I just wanted to say thank you for speaking so eloquently and passionately about the addiction problem on a public forum. I am also thankful for the work you do every day to help families and individuals find recovery.
Griffin Jarzombek, CAC II
