LLILAS Benson Latin American Studies and Collections at The University of Texas at Austin, in conjunction with benefactors Joe R. and the late Dr. Teresa Lozano Long, announced that Dr. Francisco G. Cigarroa is the inaugural recipient of the Joe R. & Dr. Teresa Lozano Long Medal of Excellence Award.
Dr. Cigarroa is the Carlos and Malú Alvarez Distinguished University Chair and holds the Ashbel Smith Professorship in Surgery at the Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine.
