September is Women in Medicine Month (WIMM), an annual celebration recognized by the American Medical Association highlighting the contributions of women physicians since 1990.
The Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine is home to countless outstanding women in medicine and science, including physicians, teachers, researchers, mentors and more.
The Office for Inclusion and Diversity has acknowledged WIMM since 2018 by recognizing these outstanding faculty and students within the Long School of Medicine, based on nominations submitted by faculty, trainees and students.
This year, the school is honoring 21 women who are changing the face of health, medicine and science. The 2022 Women in Medicine Month recipients are listed below.
