Keith V. Hill, D.D.S., FAGD, assistant professor in the Department of General Dentistry, died suddenly June 17.

Dr. Hill joined the faculty in general dentistry in 2007 and was a group leader for clinic students.

Dr. Hill earned his dental degree in 1976 from the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio School of Dentistry.  He completed his general practice residency in 1977 at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi, and later completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Academy of General Dentistry in Chicago.

Dr. Hill was also well known in the School of Dentistry as a ceramic artist and potter. Examples of his work can be found in many offices, sitting atop desks and shelves. He was featured in a Fall/Winter 2014 Mission magazine story titled “Beyond the White Coat.”

Visitation for Dr. Hill will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 21, at Porter Loring Mortuary, 1101 McCullough in San Antonio. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 22, at Sunset Ridge Church of Christ, 95 Brees Blvd., San Antonio, followed by a reception.

There will also be an event to celebrate Dr. Hill’s life from 5 to 7 p.m., on Wednesday at Liberty Bar, 1111 S. Alamo St., San Antonio.
