Retired Lt. Gen. Robert Miller, MD, MBA, director of the Military Health Institute (MHI) at UT Health San Antonio, gave the keynote address for the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium (SAUSHEC) graduation ceremony. Held June 6 at the Scottish Rite Auditorium, the ceremony celebrated residents and fellows from Brooke Army Medical Center and Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center.
Miller retired after 39 in the military, where he served as the Surgeon General for the United States Air Force and Space Force. He was appointed director of MHI in 2024.
Established in 2014, the Military Health Institute at UT Health San Antonio promotes collaboration with the United States Department of Defense and the Department of Veterans Affairs in the areas of research, education, clinical care and engagement.
MHI’s programs and partnerships with local, state and federal organizations, create initiatives that help advance military medicine and improve the health of military service members, veterans and their families.
