My Service Center now requires two-factor authentication

My Service Center, the one-stop location to request administrative and operational services, will now require two-factor authentication. The authentication requires a login followed by a push notification with options for a text message, phone call or to enter a passcode. Text message is the preferred, easiest option. This additional layer of security is familiar to users who connect to Office 365 or via the virtual private network (VPN).

Once on the How can we help? page, users will need to log in. A link is found in the upper right-hand corner of the page. Following login, users will be given the familiar Authentication with Duo page (seen in the image) to select an option.

Campus users have long used the IMS service portal, which is expanding as part of the Enterprise Design for Growth & Effectiveness (EDGE) initiative. Branded as My Service Center, the portal currently includes IT and Financial services and will soon expand to include Human Resources, Marketing & Communications, with additional service catalogs added in the coming months.

The change to two-factor authentication is part of an ongoing effort to enhance My Service Center, improving security for enterprise applications, refining existing services for ease of use and defining new services to eliminate paper and manual processes. The goal is to maximize efficiency to enable growth and effectiveness.

Additional recent changes for My Service Center include an improved email notification template.
