As part of the university wide effort to improve the digital experience for its students and employees, UT Health San Antonio has completed modernizing the audiovisual (AV) equipment in 42 locations throughout campus.
As of Jan. 19, old equipment was replaced with new projectors, screens, cameras and audio equipment in classrooms, lecture halls and conference rooms around the university. In addition, multiple classrooms and work areas were enabled to use webinar and presentation tools such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom. These upgrades provide a better overall AV experience and allow digital content and presentations to reach larger audiences.
In addition to the modernization of campus AV equipment, the university is taking other measures to extend and strengthen Wi-Fi signal and improve wireless connectivity, including upgrading the Wi-Fi network infrastructure, upgrading the cellular network to 5G and installing more than 300 new Wi-Fi access points throughout the campus.
Students are encouraged to provide real-time feedback to support the university’s connectivity improvement efforts. Look for a QR code on flyers, banners and small, square stickers posted around campus. Scanning the QR code will take you to a very brief survey where you can report connectivity issues in seconds. This feedback will help the university’s comprehensive effort to improve Wi-Fi connectivity for students and all users on campus. Students and other users have submitted more than 400 survey responses from Jan. 12 through Feb. 2.
To request AV support for an event, users can email av_support@uthscsa.edu, or call 210-567-1515 to report issues.
