New intranet debuted Aug. 14

UT Health San Antonio is transitioning to a new, university-wide intranet, built using faculty and staff feedback about needed improvements in communication and technology within our organization.

Called My UT Health based on a university-wide vote, the intranet is scheduled to launch on Aug. 14. Also, effective Aug. 11, the My UT Health intranet home page will become the default log-in page on all PCs for users of the browsers Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox.

My UT Health will replace several outdated online systems. The old “portal,” found at inside.uthscsa.edu, will be slowly phased out, and all the tools and links needed for everyday business and communications functions will move to a more efficient and modern online home. Instead of having two separate portals—one with campus news and events and one with business links and payroll information, among other things—My UT Health will be a single new site that will be secure and tailored to the needs of all faculty and staff.

Offices, departments and units will also have the opportunity to build their own locally managed secure section of the intranet so that departmental events, announcements and information can be shared with all of UT Health San Antonio’s internal audience. We’ve never had that capability in the past, and we’re excited to give departments a new tool that will improve communication and business efficiency.

Training will be available this summer and into the fall. There also will be an introductory “quick-tips” training video available on demand.
